Saturday 24.05.2014: Open Summer Collection Magazine

13.00 – 15.00 Presentations and Discussion: MODE UNCUT – The Open Fashion Design Network – Short talks from some of the international founding members describing the ethos, aims and practices of the network – including open patterns, generative designs, wearable technologies, digital textile design and more. Open and Participatory Fashion Design for creating new relationships and Alternative Economies – Alastair Fuad-Luke and Anja Lisa Hirscher, Aalto ARTS with examples such as Hybrid Wearables & Digital Textile Design

15.00 – 17.00 Workshop MODE UNCUT is planning an OPEN SUMMER COLLECTION and MAGAZINE. In this open workshop participants will co-create,and develop ideas for the collection and magazine. We hope to include Mode Uncut international members via Skype, focusing discussions on reach, audience, content etc.


Sunday 25.05.2014: Making & Experimenting

12.00 – 18.00 Taking the ideas generated on Saturday, we will furher explore concepts and possi-bilities for the OPEN SUMMER COLLECTION designing and making clothes together. Sewing machines, second-hand materials and assistance with open source-patterns, half-way products, redesign projects etc. are offered by: 5-7 Designers and Teams including: Make{able}, KaeMa, Studio + Machine, and some more independent designers!
